Spacecraft Production Facility Manager | Woking | Competitive salary + strong package
Responsible for managing and efficiently running the AIT Cleanroom and bridges, ensuring that cleanroom areas are set up and maintained to a standard that enables safe working on multiple spacecraft missions. This key role supports the AIT team to meet Spacecraft Production schedules and delivery within a safe and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordinate logistics for management and maintenance of loading bay, Cleanroom, bridges, and AIT containers.
2. Manage spacecraft thermal chamber use and coordinate planned maintenance with SSTL facilities team and AIT users.
3. Supervise outside contractors and ensure adherence to Cleanroom procedures.
4. Allocate and maintain storage areas for flight hardware and manage transfer of equipment to/from offsite storage.
5. Maintain inventory of all AIT equipment and manage storage, including disposal of obsolete items.
6. Allocate EGSE and oversee maintenance of Cleanroom tools, equipment, and consumables.
7. Coordinate movements within the Cleanroom and loading bay, including lifting equipment inspections and onsite service & repair of AIT installations.
8. Serve as the point of contact for lifting equipment inspections and facility servicing.
9. Ensure proper maintenance of ESD protection, toolkits, and bay setups, maintaining tidiness during and after projects.
10. Oversee Health & Safety, including maintaining access lists, providing inductions, and ensuring safe work practices.
11. Generate and maintain AIT Cleanroom processes, order equipment, and perform mechanical tasks as needed.
12. Maintain logs and ensure training and enforcement of procedures for Cleanroom users.
Person Specification
Experience: Relevant experience in a Cleanroom or engineering lab environment preferred. Background as an electrical lab technician, wireman, or mechanical apprentice is useful. Experience with machine shop tooling, risk assessments, COSHH, lifting equipment, pressure systems, and gas safety regulations is desirable. Planning, scheduling, and budgeting experience is also important.
