Vulnerable Adults Service (VAS)
The VAS comprises two branches: Lead Worker and Supported Accommodation. These services collaborate closely to provide consistent, flexible support across Birmingham, 365 days a year from 9AM to 9PM.
Role Overview
We seek an approachable and communicative individual to work with clients in a holistic, person-centred manner. The role involves building independence, community networks, and improving quality of life for individuals experiencing various mental health conditions, including dual diagnosis, complex needs, and challenging behaviour. You will support clients to engage with their community, access health services, manage finances, reduce debt, and explore employment or education opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review and update personalised support plans, maintaining relevant assessment documentation.
2. Identify barriers or changes in circumstances affecting client goals.
3. Empathise with clients' daily struggles and promote user involvement and empowerment.
4. Support clients in building social networks and engaging with community activities.
5. Encourage physical and mental wellbeing through relevant appointments and activities.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working in the mental health field.
* Good understanding of obstacles faced by individuals with mental health issues and strategies to overcome them.
* Empathy and commitment to user involvement and empowerment.
