Overview
This post is to work as a member of the Breast Imaging Department at The Royal Cornwall Hospital NHS Trust, rated as Outstanding by the CQC. The post forms part of a sustained development plan in Breast imaging to meet rising demand. The successful candidate will join a cohesive breast imaging team in a dedicated breast unit for symptomatic and screening services based at our Mermaid Centre – an outpatient unit dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease.
Responsibilities
* Deliver screening and symptomatic breast imaging services including interpretation of screening mammograms
* Attend new patient symptomatic clinics (including clinical and imaging assessment)
* Run screening assessment clinics
* Undertake interventions, predominantly image-guided (such as ultrasound and stereotactic guided core biopsy)
* Undertake clinical examinations and formulate diagnostic pathway plans
* Participate in MDT meetings
* Optimise patient management
* Communicate with the multidisciplinary team
* Undertake audit and service improvement projects
* Collaborate in research
Qualifications and Requirements
* GMC registered doctor
* Completed the RCR/NBIA breast clinician training program with credentialling or demonstrate equivalent postgraduate breast imaging qualifications with relevant breast imaging experience
