Key Responsibilities
Partnership and Tax
* Prepare partnership and corporate tax computations.
* Reconcile partners' current, capital, and tax reserve accounts; resolve discrepancies.
* Manage partner loans—from arranging new facilities with the bank to handling repayments and interest.
* Prepare annual partner statements and align partner balances with records.
* Maintain partner tax reserves and coordinate tax budgets and year-end adjustments.
* Oversee HMRC payments and engage with firm tax advisors and external consultants.
* Handle monthly partner drawings, ensuring processes are prompt and accurate.
* Support partner benefit inquiries and coordinate closely with HR.
* Assist with partner retirement procedures, including balance reconciliation and repayments.
* Provide technical payroll support and contribute to capital allowances projects.
Statutory and Management Accounts
* Support the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow.
* Assist with year-end statutory accounts and compliance updates.
* Oversee group dormant company accounts and filings.
* Review, analyze, and report monthly results; support audit and period-end activities.
Treasury and Other Duties
* Assist with daily and monthly cash flow reporting.
* Aid timely VAT submissions, regulatory filings, and process improvements.
* Undertake ad hoc financial tasks as needed.
Person Specification
* Qualified accountant with substantial partnership accounting or tax experience.
* Experience in legal finance or professional services is essential.
* Proactivity, adaptability, and visibility within the business.
* Aderant software experience is beneficial but not required.
* Advanced Excel, capable of producing analytical reports and summaries.
* High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong communicator and relationship-builder, demonstrating professionalism and initiative.
Working Arrangement & Benefits
* Salary: £85,000–£95,000, dependent on experience.
* Full-time, hybrid (two days remote, three days office-based).
