Job Overview
This is a replacement post in the Imaging service - Clinical Support & Imaging Management Group (CSI CMG). The post holder will join an established team of Oncology and GIGU radiologists supporting clinicians and delivering acute and elective imaging in both specialist areas and in general radiology. The post holder will join the comprehensive diagnostic body rota 1 in 30 plus delivering diagnostic oncology/Abdominal reporting across the UHL, subject to required skills if they are available. It is expected that the post holder will take part in the provision of emergency imaging across the UHL. This is a new consultant post. The appointment will be whole time; modifications may be discussed on a personal basis.
Responsibilities
Undertake programmed activities in Oncology and Gastrointestinal imaging, supporting the development of the service.
Support the provision of imaging in oncology and haematology.
Assist oncologists with radiotherapy.
Review oncology imaging performed as an emergency within and out of hours.
Lead or take part in MDTs including lymphoma/Myeloma depending on the needs of the department.
Contribute to in‑patient ultrasound imaging if needed.
Contribute to an interventional list for US and CT‑guided biopsies/drainages if suitable interventional skill is available.
Contribute to the training of Specialist Registrars on the East Midland Deanery (South) radiology training scheme.
Supervise and train skill‑mix radiographers, sonographers and non‑medical staff in their present and anticipated roles.
Supervise junior medical staff.
Support and participate in audit, research, teaching and administration.
Support emergency imaging across UHL.
Take part in the diagnostic on‑call rota within UHL and assist in the provision of weekend radiological support for the Service.
