The Role
The role involves providing comprehensive support to Solicitors and Fee Earners on a varied criminal caseload. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with cases from police station stage through to court proceedings. This role requires a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Duties
* Attend police stations
* Prepare and maintain case files
* Draft correspondence and legal documents
* Liaise with clients, counsel, courts and external agencies
* Ensure compliance with legal aid and regulatory requirements
The Candidate
* At least 1 year experience as a Criminal Defence Paralegal
* Police Station Accreditation is essential
* Good working knowledge of criminal procedure and legal aid processes
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Professional manner, attention to detail, and commitment to client care
* Reliability, discretion, and genuine interest in criminal defence work
