About the Business
This is your opportunity to join a well-established electronics manufacturer, with operations across multiple international locations.
The company has ambitious plans for growth over the next five years and they are positioning themselves for long-term success. As part of these plans, they are looking for a Senior Buyer to play a pivotal role in their journey.
The Role
You’ll be part of a growing procurement team, reporting to the Head of Global Supply Chain. Your focus will be on managing key suppliers, reshoring existing supply chains to the UK, and overseeing the purchasing process for a range of commodities. You’ll also have the opportunity to support new product introductions and develop supplier relationships at both a tactical and strategic level.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead supplier identification, contract negotiations, and onboarding of successful suppliers.

Manage reshoring of suppliers back to the UK, improving contract management and supplier performance.

Work closely with R&D teams to develop strategies for new product integration.
*
Develop, implement, and manage strategic category management plans.
*
Maintain accurate data on SAP, ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
*
Achieve annual cost avoidance targets and improve supplier performance.
*
Create and circulate forecasts to suppliers to ensure production requirements are met.
*
Manage supplier relationships and communicate any potential risks (e.g., market conditions, pricing).
*
Oversee Kanban/consignment stocks and support NPI (New Product Introduction) projects.
*
Take on leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Head of Global Supply Chain.
What You’ll Need
*
3-5 years’ experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.
*
Proven experience with New Product Development (NPD) and category management.
*
Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage supplier relationships.
*
Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
*
CIPS Level 4 or studying towards is desirable.
*
Experience in the electronics manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.

Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of product categories and suppliers.
