About Jupiter Plus
Jupiter Plus is an educational outreach initiative aimed at fostering creativity and digital literacy through innovative, hands-on learning experiences. Our green screen workshop brings media production skills into the classroom, empowering young people to explore storytelling, digital arts, and technology.
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and engaging Green Screen Technician to support the delivery of a structured green screen workshop to school pupils aged 15-18 in Dundee. Working closely with educators and facilitators, you will operate the technical setup, troubleshoot issues, and help students create high-quality video projects in line with the pre-designed lesson plan.
Key Responsibilities
Set up, manage, and dismantle green screen equipment, including lighting, cameras, microphones, and editing software.
Support the delivery of pre-existing lesson plans focused on green screen production and digital storytelling.
Provide hands-on guidance to students in small groups on filming techniques, use of equipment, and basic post-production.
Troubleshoot technical issues in real time, ensuring smooth session delivery.
Maintain equipment and ensure safe and secure handling throughout.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment for all participants.
Liaise with teachers and Jupiter Plus staff to ensure alignment with learning outcomes.
Proven experience with green screen technology and video production tools (e.g., OBS Studio, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
Strong working knowledge of lighting, camera operation, and sound recording.
Experience working with young people aged 15-18 in an educational or workshop setting.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and accessibly.
Skilled in classroom or group management, particularly with secondary school-aged pupils.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and calm under pressure
Previous experience delivering creative media workshops.
PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme membership or willingness to obtain prior to start date.
Familiarity with Scottish Curriculum for Excellence is a plus
