About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established employment and training provider in Northampton for a highly organised and qualified Pre-Employment Construction Tutor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a passion for teaching and mentoring learners who are preparing to enter the industry.
The successful candidate will deliver specialist 2-4 week Level 1 and Level 2 trade programmes, covering construction theory and Health & Safety as mandatory topics. The role combines classroom delivery, practical workshop support, and e-portfolio development using OneFile, ensuring learners successfully complete their programme and progress into employment.
High-quality teaching, accurate documentation, and full compliance with funding and awarding organisation requirements are central to this position.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver pre-defined construction curriculum to a high standard, developing learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviours
Teach construction theory and Health & Safety within Level 1 and 2 trade programmes
Mentor, observe, and assess learners in classroom and workshop settings
Support learners in building and completing their OneFile e-portfolio
Complete all learner documentation, tracking records, and funding paperwork accurately and on time
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to ensure achievement of qualifications
Ensure compliance with company, funding, and awarding organisation requirements

Experienced in classroom-based delivery and blended learning environments
Skilled in supporting diverse learner groups
Confident using IT systems, including e-portfolio platforms
Holds current, relevant occupational experience in the Construction industry (minimum Level 3 competence)
Evidence of continued professional development within the sector
Essential Qualifications
Teaching qualification (minimum PTLLS or Level 3 AET)
Assessor qualification
Level 3 qualification or proven occupational competence in Construction
Maths and English at Level 2 or above
