Job Description
A well-established and respected law firm based in the market town of Skipton—known as the "Gateway to the Dales"—is seeking a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE to join its Private Client department.The successful candidate will assume responsibility for an existing and diverse caseload covering the full range of Private Client matters. Responsibilities will include:
* Drafting and executing wills from initial instruction to signature
* Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney
* Obtaining Grants of Representation and administering estates, including the preparation of estate accounts
* Advising on inheritance tax planning and implementing appropriate arrangements, including lifetime trusts, deeds of variation, and other gifting strategies
* Preparing and submitting inheritance tax accounts, with particular emphasis on Agricultural and Business Property Reliefs
* Administering lifetime and will trusts, including the preparation of trust accounts, tax returns, and relevant deeds to alter or terminate trusts
* Preparing and managing Court of Protection Deputyship applications and ancillary matters
* Advising attorneys on their duties and providing assistance as required
