You’ll be joining a major UK operator within the heavy industrial and port‑related sector. The business manages large-scale plant and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient movement and processing of materials. You’ll be part of a dedicated engineering function focused on maintaining high levels of reliability, safety and operational performance.
Your new role
As an Electrical Technician, you’ll carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of plant, machinery and control systems. Working both independently and as part of a team, you’ll ensure equipment remains safe, reliable andpliant with site procedures.Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing hands‑on maintenance, fault‑finding and repairs on electrical systems and industrial machinery
2. Responding efficiently to unplanned breakdowns to minimise downtime
3. Isolating equipment safely and following site permit‑to‑work processes
4. Updating job cards, maintenance logs and reporting any parts or materials required
5. Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to operational planning
6. Collaborating closely with engineering, operations and external contractors
7. Maintaining a strong personal safety culture and promoting safe working practices
What you'll need to succeed
8. NVQ Level 3 in an electrical discipline plus apleted apprenticeship
9. A HNC or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
10. Experience maintaining electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment (, manufacturing, processing, ports, mining, aggregates)
11. Strong understanding of control systems and PLCs
12. Excellent electrical fault‑finding ability
13. Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding conditions
14. Strongmunication skills and the confidence to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
15. Full UK driving licence
