Cover Supervisor (Geography)

Salary: £100 – £200 per day (depending on experience, qualifications and responsibilities).
Daily rate will be determined based on teaching experience, subject specialism and the level of responsibility within the role. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
About the Role
Teach Now is recruiting on behalf of a high-performing secondary academy in Watford, Hertfordshire for a Cover Supervisor (Geography) to join the school for the Summer Term starting after Easter (April 2026).
This full-time temporary role is an excellent opportunity for a Geography teacher, ECT, Geography graduate or experienced Cover Supervisor to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting a busy and collaborative Humanities department.
You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, ensuring students remain engaged and continue to make progress in their learning. The school has a strong culture of teaching and learning, and you will play an important role in maintaining continuity for students during an important part of the academic year.
The school is a popular, oversubscribed academy that has been consistently rated “Good” by Ofsted since 2012, most recently in November 2024. It offers a modern learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities and is known for its calm, purposeful atmosphere and supportive staff community.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants should:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as a Geography Teacher, or be an experienced Cover Supervisor, or have a degree/background in Geography or a related field
• Be confident delivering lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
• Have strong classroom management and communication skills
• Be able to follow pre-planned lesson materials and maintain productive learning environments
• Be reliable, organised and adaptable
This role would suit a qualified teacher, Early Career Teacher, Geography graduate or experienced Cover Supervisor looking for a Summer Term opportunity starting at Easter.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver pre-prepared Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Maintain a positive learning environment and strong classroom behaviour
• Support students in remaining engaged with their learning
• Follow departmental lesson plans and ensure continuity of teaching
• Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school staff
• Attend relevant department meetings or school briefings as required
