About the role
As part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team, the post holder will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. The post holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity and will supervise, educate and develop members of the multidisciplinary team. Effective leadership within scope of role is expected.
Responsibilities
* Manage a specialist caseload, using evidence based practice and client centred principles to assess, plan and implement care.
* Provide expert advice and support within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity.
* Supervise, educate and develop members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Provide effective leadership within scope of role.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC Registration.
* Educated to Degree level.
* Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards.
* Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
* Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice.
* Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
* Excellent team-working/leadership skills and ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management skills.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology.
* Non-medical prescribing where required within the specialism and legal framework.
* Driving licence: full UK/EU/EEA licence.
