Responsibilities
* Work with the Product Management team to understand new features and solutions in the pipeline.
* Decompose required functionality across products.
* Identify, specify and control product interfaces and interactions.
* Identify project dependencies and work with project managers to ensure coordinated, timely introduction of features across multiple product development streams.
* Create product specifications ensuring essential features, standards and compliance requirements are captured at the outset of projects.
* Communicate technical reasoning, constraints and decisions clearly across teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
* Assist teams to create comprehensive test plans.
* Represent and promote the long‑term goals of system development.
* Recognise and promote design re‑use.
* Track emerging technologies, innovations, and obsolescence.
* Maintain a shared architectural roadmap within a group of other systems and product architects.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in Software, Electronic or Systems Engineering or related discipline.
* Significant experience as a Systems Architect (or similar technical leadership role) working across network systems, software solutions and embedded hardware products.
* Strong, practical knowledge in several of the following areas: communications networks (CAN, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth), system design methodologies, hardware and software design principles.
* Exceptional technical communication skills.
* Solid grasp on modern requirement management and definition principles.
* Proven ability to work effectively in cross‑functional engineering teams and build alignment across multiple disciplines.
* Familiarity with sailing and or power boating (advantageous but not essential).
* Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and internationally when required.
