Department overview: The Procurement department at Aston Martin is responsible for the selection and management of all external suppliers to the business. The department has a direct impact upon the Company’s profitability and its team members are relied upon to professionally develop and maintain competitive, stable, long-term supply agreements with its supplier base. These agreements will help Aston Martin to achieve greater commercial success in the future and contribute to the long-term profitability of the company. Job Purpose: Define and execute Procurement objectives in line with department KPIs Lead and support cross-functional activities to ensure delivery of data into the Procurement team in line with business requirements Support and drive cross-functional sourcing and development Develop and implement Procurement processes improvements Support team members on day-to-day activities to ensure adherence to Procurement deliverables Lead the coordination, escalation, and resolution for identified commercial supply risks with support of the Procurement teams Key Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for leading and Managing one area of the direct Procurement team in all aspects of Procurement from concept to end of life. Play an instrumental role in enabling the function to achieve, or ideally exceed, its business objectives, through defining structure and governance. Lead, coach, and mentor the team, to form an efficient, well-motivated unit, delivering short, medium, and long-term goals based on AML overall strategic direction, ensuring that the team are fully mobilised and focused on required deliverables. Lead, promote and build good supplier relationships to support achievement of objectives. Creating Supplier strategies to build long term relationships at a high level Develop clear plans with the team and stakeholders to deliver Sourcing targets below budget and on time Vehicle development to ensure Job 1 is at target cost Year on year cost saving requirements Cost and delivery risk mitigation plans Represent Procurement in cross functional teams to ensure that the Company’s goals can effectively be achieved. Building relationships with key stakeholders and lead reviews to discuss latest status and progress in meeting the organisational targets Work with the wider Senior Manager team to develop a strong, well trained, strategic Procurement team. Constantly strive for process improvement opportunities both internally, within Procurement and the wider business, and externally within the Supplier base, focusing on business ‘Best Practice’ initiatives. Liaise closely with Finance to ensure Procurement’s targets and results are totally aligned to those reported at a corporate level. Qualification & Experience: Educated to Degree level, in line with the role requirements. Previous Procurement experience in a manufacturing setting preferably in Automotive Understanding of the strategic role of the Procurement function and ability to work at this level. Demonstrable ability to prioritise tasks and have effective time management and analytical skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Microsoft Office & specifically Excel/ PowerPoint skills Post holder should hold a full driving licence and be prepared to travel where their specific work responsibilities require.
