Responsibilities
:
1. Lead architecture and system design for maritime solutions, including combat systems, communications, autonomy, and integrated platform management.
2. Translate operational and capability needs into end-to-end system designs.
3. Engage with defence stakeholders, partners, and engineering teams to define and validate system architectures.
4. Ensure compliance with military standards, safety, and security requirements.
5. Support bids and proposals through technical leadership, design governance, and solution costing.
6. Conduct trade studies and design reviews to assess performance, scalability, and interoperability.
7. Oversee technical alignment and integration across multiple programmes.
8. Drive innovation by monitoring emerging technologies in autonomy, AI, and advanced communications.
Required Experience and Skills:
9. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
10. Background in maritime, naval, or defence systems (e.g., Royal Navy, defence industry).
11. Proven experience in solution or systems architecture within defence or maritime domains.
12. Strong understanding of naval platforms, C4ISR, and mission systems integration.
13. Familiarity with architecture frameworks (MODAF, NAF, TOGAF) and tools (Sparx EA, Cameo).
14. Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle, MBSE, and digital twin concepts.
15. Awareness of cybersecurity, safety, and information assurance in defence systems.
16. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to lead technical strategy and governance.
