Who we are looking for…
Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking to recruit a Planning Officer within the Development Management service area. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing a caseload of householder and minor applications, including any associated appeals. Meeting national performance targets, and supporting continuous improvements to the overall service and attending the Area Planning committee to present applications will also be required.
As a Planning Officer you will support other officers in delivering the DM function.
The successful candidate will need to be educated to degree standard in Town and Country Planning or a similar environmental based subject or can demonstrate equivalent level of knowledge through experience. They will require good IT skills and have the ability to research case law and good practice in the further development of this area of work.
