Clerk of Works/Site Supervisor
Job description
We are currently seeking a Clerk of Works/Site Supervisor to join our in-house team. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in progressing your career within this area of the construction industry.
The successful candidate will assist the Architectural Design and Project Management section in delivery of new build, refurbishment and extensions of Council Properties and Facilities and assist in the delivery of major capital projects.
As a Clerk of Works /Site Supervisor you will carry out supervision of works with both external and internal contractors.
Ensuring that all materials and workmanship are in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Maintain accurate records of the projects as they progress and regularly report back to the Project Manager/Contract Administrator.
Fulfil the role of the contract supervisor under the NEC form of contract.
Do you have:
Substantial practical knowledge and experience of building construction, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
An ability to work individually and as part of a large project team keeping accurate records of work activities and project progress whilst ensuring that the highest quality standards are maintained
An understanding of the requirements and contractual responsibilities of health and safety on construction sites.
Experience of carrying out the duties of a supervisor under the NEC form of contract.
Ideally you will have:
HND/HNC/Degree in a relevant subject or be able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role.
The applicant will ideally be a member of the Institute of Clerk of Works, the Chartered Institute of Building or equivalent Professional Institution or working towards membership.

Some of the recent projects the team has delivered include a new visitor Centre at Gnoll Country Park, a new Cinema at Pontardawe Arts Centre, Refurbishment of the existing Youth Offenders Team premises in Port Talbot, as well as multiple education and social services new build and refurbishment projects.
