We have an exciting new opportunity for a growing Biomass business who are seeking a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer for their site near Thetford. Working Monday to Friday – Reporting to the Engineering and Maintenance team leader responsible for the EC&I maintenance, breakdown activities and coordination of 3rd party suppliers.
Your new role
As a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, installing, managing, and maintaining equipment used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes. The role ensures that industrial processes operate safely, efficiently, and reliably through effective automation and instrumentation solutions.
• General knowledge and experience of DCS/HMI, electrical systems, steam cycle chemistry, WTP, generators and transformers.
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance/defect repair of motors, switchgear, instruments and control systems, including SCADA.
• An understanding and ability to read P&ID and isometric diagrams
•puter literate with Microsoft Office suite and ideally previous CMMS experience.
• Five years Power Plant Operations experience within a maintenance role.
Diagnose faults and optimise performance of control systems and instrumentation.Implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.Ensure system reliability, uptime, andpliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What you'll need to succeed
ONC / C&G / NVQ level 3 in an Electrical or C&I engineering discipline is essential, along with a high level of practical thermal/process plant maintenance experience.
(Qualifications below this may be acceptable if apanied by suitable experience).
You will have experience in industries such as oil & gas, manufacturing, energy, water treatment, pharmaceuticals, or automotive is often preferred.
