Overview
Environmental (EIA) Consultant - North West & Midlands at WSP. Based from any of WSP’s UK offices. We are looking for a Consultant level environmental professional to support our Environmental Management and Assessment Team in the UK, working across sectors including onshore and offshore renewables, aviation, nuclear, rail, and more. We seek proactive individuals with a grounding in environmental design, assessment and management across the development lifecycle.
The role is ideally suited to a proactive individual who is keen to progress their career by taking initiative.
Your Role
As an EIA Consultant within WSP’s Environmental Assessment and Management team, you will work with a range of technical environmental specialists and design teams across multiple sectors to manage environmental inputs to project designs and assessments. The role suits an enthusiastic individual who can influence, manage and deliver environmental elements of engineering projects across a wide range of sectors including rail, highways, energy and commercial/residential, from feasibility through planning, detailed design, construction and handover/maintenance. You will help to manage projects and coordinate tasks relating to bidding, project team management, project delivery, and financial management. You will have the opportunity to work with a great team across the UK, where inspiring work and a fulfilling working life are a priority. A typical week could include:
* Coordinating environmental assessments and EIA
* Collaborating with diverse environmental specialists to shape sustainable projects
* Developing innovative techniques to shape how we work, including digital EIA
* Preparing well-presented environmental statements and sustainable design reports, as well as supporting new project bids
* Managing time and budgets and costing new work proposals
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
* Degree-level qualification in an environment-related area
* Professional membership of IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional body
* Experience of environmental support on energy projects, including EIA
* Sound knowledge of different environmental issues and topics
* Grounding in the UK environmental and planning regime
* Experience in sectors such as energy, highways, rail, housing
* Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams, client organisations and external bodies
* Strong communication, writing and presentation skills
* Demonstrable skills in some or all of the requirements listed above
