Overview
Staff Nurse - Older Persons Care Unit (OPCU) role at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. We are searching for enthusiastic and motivated staff nurses to join our Inpatient Services with specialised wards for patients over 65 years and dementia care to support assessment, treatment and recovery in the community or supported living environment. Opportunities to work in these specialised areas are available.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team within the acute care pathway. The role may be of interest to registered mental health nurses with a specific interest in the physical and mental healthcare of older adults.
Responsibilities
* Assume the role of named nurse to allocated patients and be a central point in advocating for the best interests and care needs of your patient.
* Work as part of an experienced nursing, medical, psychology and allied health professional team to provide enhanced level of patient-centred care.
* Be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team with focus on assessment of need, treatment and recovery, placing the service user and their families at the centre of care planning.
* Opportunity to gain further training and experience as a link nurse in areas such as the Mental Health Act, physical health, and addiction.
Qualifications and Skills
* Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with interest in the care of older adults, including dementia care.
* Approachable, compassionate and motivated individual with good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Notes on DBS
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. The DBS cost is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced) and will be deducted from salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service with an annual fee of £16.
