About this role
The Platform Accounting & Insights Manager is a pivotal role within our Global Finance Operations team, specifically leading the Record to Report (R2R) function for Platform and Revenue Accounting.
You're accountable for ensuring the delivery of global revenue streams, payment service provider accounting flows, and inventory accounting, driven by robust data integrity and efficient reconciliations.
You'll champion innovations and continuous improvement initiatives for the R2R Global Process Owner, focusing on leveraging data and BI tools to streamline the month-end close. It's your responsibility to ensure processes are optimized, standardized, and that insights derived from our financial data are high-quality. You'll also foster talent development within our expert team managing accounting activities from Amsterdam/London HQ and beyond.
These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
* Strategic Process Ownership & Data Quality: Own and safeguard the end-to-end accounting process for all global revenue streams and platform transactions. This includes ensuring accurate, complete, and high-quality revenue information is produced monthly across all regions, proactively identifying and addressing errors and deviations to secure data integrity.
* Complex Reconciliation & Cash Flow Oversight: Design, implement, and oversee efficient and effective reconciliation flows across various platforms from order to cash. This specifically covers reconciliations from orders to invoicing, invoicing to revenue recognition and outstanding receivables, and outstanding receivables to actual cash receipts from payment service providers. This role also includes overseeing the reconciliation of online payment methods and associated cash flow reporting for TKWY Payments BV (the Dutch entity holding a PSD3 license), actively mapping risks to prevent fraud.
* IFRS Compliance & Accounting Expertise: Lead the accounting for complex financial matters and new revenue streams, ensuring strict compliance with IFRS 15 in collaboration with Group Reporting. You'll be responsible for documenting these accounting flows and ensuring all impacted R2R accountants globally are notified and trained.
* Financial Review & Impact Analysis: Perform timely and high-quality review of reconciliations and financial analysis, providing clear communication of financial/business impact and actionable recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
* Stakeholder Leadership & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Reportable Segment Finance Directors, Country Finance Leads, Group Reporting, Group Control, Business Partners, and external auditors (serving as the main point of contact for all revenue/PsP accounting queries). Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and foster collaborative environments.
* System Integration & New Product Implementation: Deeply understand the underlying systems and financial processes driving revenue and platform accounting. Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product & Tech, BI analysts, Finance Systems, IT, Payments team) to build and operate products effectively. Represent Global Finance Operations in the implementation of new products, assessing their financial and accounting impact on order platforms and backend systems.
* Continuous Improvement & Risk Management: Proactively review financial risks and continuously drive improvements in quality and efficiency. This involves identifying, refining, and implementing new or existing processes, models, and systems that enhance team workflows and ensure compliance with the internal control framework.
* Team Management & Talent Development: Lead and manage 3-4 direct reports, focusing on talent development, coaching, and supporting team members to excel and expand in their roles through effective development conversations and participation in recruitment processes.
* Operational Excellence & Prioritization: Ensure adherence to timely and accurate reporting of relevant accounting transactions. Demonstrate strong organizational skills by balancing and prioritizing multiple tasks to ensure accuracy and meet tight deadlines.
What will you bring to the table?
* Education & Professional Qualification: Bachelor's Degree (Accounting, Finance, or equivalent) + Professional Qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
* Progressive R2R/Revenue Accounting: Proven experience in Record to Report (R2R) or similar, with significant experience in revenue and platform accounting.
* Data Architecture & BI Leadership: Proven expertise in financial data architecture, understanding data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts. Must have strong proficiency in SQL for complex querying and hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and insights.
* Process & Systems Optimization: Experience in designing and improving complex financial processes and implementing/enhancing ERPs (e.g., Workday) and FinTech platforms (e.g., OneStream), including their data structures.
* IFRS & Technical Accounting: In-depth knowledge and application of IFRS, especially IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition).
* Project & Stakeholder Management: Ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and effectively engage diverse stakeholders, including Product & Tech, BI, and senior leadership.
