Manufacturing Production Planner

We are a family-owned business that was founded 70 years ago and employs nearly 500 people across 9 global offices, including in Europe, North America and Asia. This position will be based at our European Headquarters in Hastings, East Sussex.
As the Manufacturing Production Planner, you will hold global responsibilities including producing a positive, profitable, and winning environment for manufactured products. You will collaborate with Product Management, the Sales Department, and other resources to clarify the scope of work for product design, manufacturability, and budget.
Key Job Elements:
1. Prioritise the scheduling system
2. Create manufacturing routes
3. Generate Production Routers, sequenced to meet or beat Cost and OTD expectations
4. Generate cost estimates to be used when quoting manufacturing projects
5. Work with Engineering to guarantee that the design allows for the most efficient method of manufacturing.
6. Work with Procurement and Mechanical Engineering to optimise the characteristics of material ordered to allow for efficient manufacturing across a broad spectrum of products
7. Work with other resources when required to develop new manufacturing techniques
8. Attend technical reviews with Mechanical Engineers
9. Attend project close-out meetings
10. Some travel may be required
11. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
12. Extensive experience in manufacturing including but not limited to welding, fabricating, and machining of multiple materials or equivalent experience
13. Self-motivated and able to multitask
14. Strong people skills
15. Strong organisational and time management skills
16. GD&T knowledge
Preferred
17. Experience in manufacturing within the Vacuum Science Industry
18. HNC in Mechanical Engineering or above or equivalent working experience in a manufacturing related field
