Overview
Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. Our Facilities Maintenance team on site in the UK is looking for a Part Time General Maintenance Technician. The selected applicant will support a variety of activities related to the continued operation of a mission-critical facility including preventative maintenance, routine maintenance, repairs, and ongoing refurbishment and light projects. This is a part time position working a flexible Monday through Friday dayshift. Typical work week will consist of 24-32 working hours.
Responsibilities
* Apply safe work practices to all job functions.
* Participate in pre-job briefings on risk assessments, hazard mitigation, and planned work activities.
* Move materials using hand-trucks, carts, and manual pallet jacks.
* Install and modify modular furniture and associated cable management systems.
* Install, relocate, and remove equipment racks.
* Install and modify raised flooring tile systems.
* Install and modify modular carpet systems.
* Install and modify acoustical ceiling tiles and grid.
* Perform basic carpentry tasks.
* Patch, plaster, paint, and decorate walls.
* Perform cleaning of work areas as required.
* Perform access control activities related to the supervision and management of uncleared workers in accordance with site security policies and procedures.
* Perform "Handyman" tasks associated with basic electrical and plumbing troubleshooting and replacement of broken components.
* Participate as a member of snow removal team (including operation of trucks, loaders, plows, brooms, bobcats, and salt spreaders).
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two years of related experience, or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications to comply with local requirements.
* Ability to communicate effectively with audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
* Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
* Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
* Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner; flexible team player with ability to operate with minimal supervision.
* Proficiency in the use of hand tools and basic power tools.
* Ability to work at heights (ladders, scaffolding, powered lift equipment).
* Ability to work in limited access locations such as raised flooring systems and under desks.
* Ability to lift, carry, and position items such as furniture and building materials.
* Willingness to learn and apply new skills, attending technical training as required.
* Motivation to work to high quality standards with strong attention to detail.
* Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
* U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent; GCSE or global equivalent preferred.
* Minimum three years of trade school education or global equivalent.
* Licenses and certifications as required.
* Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools and test equipment.
* Ability to read and interpret building layouts, system drawings, and manufacturers\' equipment specifications.
* Knowledge of standard and specialized maintenance practices.
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
* Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees.
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
