Who we need
We are seeking a Workshop Technician to support our Automotive apprenticeship team at the Ruddington campus. Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing specialist machinery and equipment in your designated workshops, ensuring proper maintenance and record-keeping.
2. Maintaining cleanliness, safety, and security to promote a safe learning environment, including supporting housekeeping in practical areas.
3. Preparing and managing risk assessments in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager, including overseeing specialist contractors.
4. Providing practical support and inductions to learners, preparing workshops and resources to facilitate learning at all levels.
5. Working proactively with minimal supervision.
6. Keeping accurate records of equipment and materials.
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will have experience in a workshop or practical setting, preferably in Automotive or vehicle body repair, with the ability to adapt to challenging situations. Essential skills include:
* Health and Safety certification or willingness to complete training.
* Experience working in demanding environments, with independence and responsibility, ideally in a learning context.
* Excellent communication and ICT skills.
* A respectful, inclusive attitude towards learners and colleagues.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
