Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice that is seeking an Accounts Senior – Management Accounts to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounts professional to work with a varied client portfolio and develop their career within a supportive environment.
The Role
As an Accounts Senior – Management Accounts, you will be responsible for preparing management accounts and VAT returns for a diverse range of clients, from sole traders and partnerships to charities and limited companies. You will also oversee the work of junior colleagues, ensuring quality and accuracy, while managing client relationships to deliver exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare management accounts and VAT returns for a portfolio of clients on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.
2. Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
3. Raise draft invoices for approval by senior management.
4. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring needs are met efficiently and professionally.
5. Manage deadlines and priorities effectively to meet client expectations.
The successful Accounts Senior will require the following skills & experience:
6. Level 4 AAT qualified and/or studying towards ACCA (part-qualified).
7. Previous experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts within an accountancy practice.
8. Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks, plus strong Excel skills.
9. Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
