This Troubleperson will report to the field staff supervisor and will work within network operations based in our Crawley & Brighton offices. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.
You will attract a salary of £47,690 - per annum – depending on experience and a bonus of 3%.

Job Purpose:
The position, working as part of the Crawley and Brighton Area team will manage the restoration of LV supplies on the UK Power Networks LV distribution system, carrying out jointing repairs on the HV and LV cable networks. After a period of training, you will carry out the full range of Troubleperson activities including first line response and permanent fault repair work at voltages up to 33kV.
Principal Accountabilities:
10. Location of faults on the Distribution network
11. The restoration of HV & LV supplies
12. Test and switch on the HV & LV network – and understanding the results of the tests
13. Any other relevant jointing duties
14. Supervise excavating teams
15. Understand operational and 1:500 diagrams
16. LV and HV jointing
17. Use appropriate IT equipment including TDR, LV Faults sniffer and FFE equipment
18. Supervise a working party
Nature and Scope:
You will play a vital role in the safe restoration of LV & HV supplies. We are regulated by several guidelines, and you will be important in ensuring successful compliance with Customer Minutes Lost and Customer Interruption targets. You may work at any location within the UK Power Networks area, initially within the South East Region.
Qualifications:

19. City and Guilds 2339, formally 232, or be willing to undertake a course of study to achieve this
20. Experienced Cable Jointer, ideally with fault finding experience
21. IOSH Managing Safety or be willing to undertake a course of study to achieve this
22. Streetworks qualification Units 1, 2, 3 and supervisor
23. Flexibility and able to work alone and in a team environment
24. Ability to problem solve in a practical way
25. Able to work under pressure
26. Must have a clean driving licence
