Do you have a passion for helping young people succeed in the classroom and beyond? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Newport (Monmouthshire) area from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support students aged 11–16, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and BESD. If you are caring, resilient, and thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions for students with a range of learning needs
* Assist in classroom activities under the guidance of the class teacher
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
* Help students access the curriculum in a nurturing and inclusive environment
* Collaborate with teaching staff and SENCOs to implement tailored support strategies

What We’re Looking For:
* A compassionate and patient individual with a genuine interest in education
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm, flexible, and resilient in challenging situations
* Previous experience supporting children or young people is beneficial but not essential

Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
* EWC registration (or willingness to register)
* Two recent references from educational or childcare settings
* Right to work in the UK
* Up-to-date safeguarding training (free training available via Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
