Group Financial Accountant
Location: Bath with 2 days WFH
Exceptional opportunity to join the Group Finance team of a leading Bath-based PLC. The role involves assisting with the preparation of the half-year and year-end Group financial statements and audit. This international business offers good opportunities for progression and flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:
* Be a key member of the year-end and half-year consolidation team, taking ownership of sections of key processes and preparing relevant notes/disclosures.
* Support the Group audit process and liaise with external auditors.
* Assist with the completion of UK financial statements.
* Draft technical accounting papers and assess the impact of changes in accounting standards on the Group.
* Develop and integrate sustainability reporting in line with external requirements.
* Prepare consolidation entries for the Group management accounts.
* Prepare the holding company accounts, including month-end reporting, expenditure analysis, accrual calculations, variance analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
* Assist in improving the control environment of the Group.
Candidate Profile:
* Degree-educated and a qualified accountant, preferably ACA.
* Well-developed analytical skills, proficient in Excel, and familiar with financial reporting systems.
* Good influencing skills and ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
* Adept at identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes.
* Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
