Job Description:
As an Infrastructure and Facilities Specialist Electrical Engineer, you will be working in a team responsible for the operation and governance of High Voltage and Low Voltage Electrical Engineering and Electrical Safety across large industrial/manufacturing sites. You will be working on the HV and LV network in an operational capacity, with a view of achieving Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status and developing project scope and specifications of HV and LV Electrical projects, or infrastructure projects where electrical engineering is required. This role will be Northwest based, with occasional need for UK and overseas travel for external training, supplier visits and other BAE Systems sites.
Core duties:
* Designing and reviewing power system studies including fault, load flow, protection and arc flash studies
* Developing and supporting cross-sites engineering standards and engineering processes
* Reviewing and auditing designs against legislation, standards, best practice and company policy and specification requirements in areas such as HV/LV utilities distribution, building services, ATEX/DSEAR, fire alarms, lighting, lightning protection, earthing and renewable generation systems
* Reviewing, amending and producing electrical safety management documents, including creation and development of relevant company guides, standards and processes for electrical engineering, including interpreting and guiding on British, European and International standards
* Auditing of internal and external service providers
Essential Skills:
* Experience in standards, design and planning of high voltage and low voltage distribution networks
* Hold an academic qualification, minimum HNC/HND, preferably degree level in an electrically biased subject
* Familiar with electrical engineering standards
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Team player as well as working independently
