About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you’ll be a key representative of our service team - maintaining, repairing and supporting a wide range of construction equipment. You’ll use technical knowledge and modern diagnostic tools to keep machinery running safely, reliably and efficiently.
You’ll also identify additional service needs, communicate clearly with customers, and help promote our aftermarket solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing

Service, maintain and repair construction equipment and associated machinery.
*
Diagnose faults using engineering expertise and computerised diagnostic systems.
*
Provide clear technical guidance and advice to customers.
*
Work with a commercially focused mindset, spotting opportunities for additional service work and discussing these with customers and your Line Manager.
*
Follow job quotes and time allowances, raising any additional work needed.
*
Install software updates as they are released.
*
Complete real-time reporting using a tablet, including job notes, timesheets and service reports.
*
Order and return parts as required, ensuring they are clean and correctly recorded.
*
Be available for overtime and reasonable call-outs when necessary.
*
Attend relevant technical and product training.
What You’ll Need
*
A formal engineering qualification in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV Mechanics or similar (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds).
*
Strong experience repairing and maintaining heavy construction machinery.
*
Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics, transmissions and driveline systems.
*
Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
*
Confident communication with colleagues, customers and management.
*
A cost-conscious approach to ensure work is completed efficiently and profitably.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*
Good computer literacy, including diagnostic systems and Outlook.
*
Reliability, responsibility and a commitment to high-quality work.
*
Ability to read and understand technical documentation.
Desirable
Experience in welding and fabrication.
