Application Engineer - Proclaim (Co-op, Manchester, England, United Kingdom)
Co-op is currently recruiting for an Application Engineer to join our Digital Technology & Data team in Manchester on a 36‑month fixed‑term contract.
Base pay range
£35,000 to £40,000 (pro‑rata) plus great benefits (Work Level 6A) – 36‑month fixed‑term contract, hybrid (Manchester city centre).

Role overview
This role supports the systems and tools used by our Co‑op Legal Services (CLS) colleagues, from designing and maintaining our case management system to mentoring others in the team. You will play a key role in delivering technical solutions that help us provide accessible, ethical legal services to our clients.
What you’ll do
* Design solutions for our legal case management system (CMS) and workflows.
* Maintain our CMS (Proclaim), ensuring it is up‑to‑date and compliant with best practices.
* Carry out development and coding to bring your designs to life.
* Support and mentor your team, helping them grow and develop their skills.
What you’ll bring
* Experience developing case‑management software (e.g., Proclaim, Visual Files, Lexus Nexus, Mattersphere) in a regulated industry.
* A strong understanding of complex workflows.
* The ability to take a concept from design through to delivery.
* Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
