About the role We are seeking a reliable and customer focused Café & Bar Assistant to join our café within Sustainable Workspaces’ co-working community. You will work closely with the Café & Bar Manager to deliver high quality service, assist in café operations, and help create a welcoming environment for members and guests. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a hands on role in a small team and is flexible in supporting the café and wider workspace operations when needed. The Café & Bar Assistant will support the Café & Bar Manager in daily café operations and collaborate with the Workspace Assistant and Events team when additional help is required. Key responsibilities Café Operations Prepare and serve coffee, food and beverages to a high standard; Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organised café environment. Customer Service Provide friendly, efficient service to members and guests; Respond to queries promptly and professionally. Stock & Supplier Support Assist the Café & Bar Manager with checking stock levels and receiving deliverables; Report low stock in a timely manner. Compliance & Hygiene Follow all health & safety and food hygiene guidelines; Keep work areas clean, tidy, and compliant at all times. Team Collaboration Work closely with the Café & Bar Manager to deliver smooth daily operations; Support the Workspace Assistant when additional help is needed in the café or front of house tasks. Event Assistance Support the Events team by helping set up, serve, or clear refreshments for meetings or events when requested. We need you to have experience in Previous experience in a café, bar, or hospitality role. Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices. Skills & attributes Strong communication and customer service skills. Friendly, approachable, and team oriented. Ability to follow guidance while also taking initiative when needed. Able to carry out the practical tasks required in a café environment, such as carrying trays, setting up tables and restocking supplies. Flexible and proactive approach to work in a busy, dynamic environment. You ideally have experience in Food hygiene certification. Experience in coworking, café, or events environments. Interest in sustainability and environmentally conscious food and beverage practices. Benefits Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Full-time, 5-days per week, Monday to Friday, on shift in standard working hours 8am - 10pm. Additional flexibility required to cover events.
