We’re currently working with a well-established manufacturer who are looking to add both a Trainee Toolmaker and an Experienced Toolmaker to their team.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who want's to work in precision engineering and tooling, who enjoys problem-solving and working to tight tolerances.
The role will involve:
* Manufacturing, maintaining, and repairing tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies
* Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Using manual machining equipment including milling, turning, and grinding machines
* Supporting production by resolving tooling issues and minimising downtime
* Carrying out preventative maintenance and continuous improvement on tooling
* Ensuring all work is completed to quality and health & safety standards
We’re looking for someone who has:
* A time-served apprenticeship or equivalent in Toolmaking / Engineering
* Proven experience in a Toolmaker or Toolroom environment
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable but not essential:
* CNC machining experience
* Background in a high-volume or precision manufacturing environment
