Are you looking to develop your skills and career? We are seeking clinically skilled, enthusiastic, and motivated Clinical Team Leaders to join our Children and Young Peoples Inpatient Services at our purpose built CAMHS High Intensity Environment due to open early 2026.
The ward will be an 8 bed CAMHS providing innovative, high quality care to young people aged 13-18 who are suffering from acute mental illness. The purpose of the ward is to offer comprehensive assessments and treatment so Service Users can have shorter stays in hospital.
As a Clinical Team Leader you will help lead the team providing high quality care to young people, working in a supportive team to provide individual care within the unit in accordance with the integrated care programme approach. There will be activities where you will be required to assist in the organisation and be responsible for the safety and well-being of young people. You will establish and develop effective liaison and communication with all disciplines, agencies, parents, carers and service users.
We provide in-depth initial and on-going inductions, mandatory/personal training programmes, plus clinical and management supervision.
We are a 24-hour service and have a variety of shifts including full and part time hours to suit your needs, which can be discussed at interview.
Long Days: 07:00-20:00. Nights: 19:30-07:30.

Main duties of the job
Make judgements about appropriate models of treatment, often involving highly complex issues and situations requiring analysis, comparison and interpretation of a range of options.
Attend and participate in ward rounds, clinical case meetings and CPA reviews to ensure the needs of children, young people and their families/carers are addressed to support their recovery.
Be involved in teaching staff of all levels and actively promote the development of the service.
Day-to-day supervision and management of Band 5 Tier 4 CAMHS nurses/staff nurses and mental health support workers.
You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

* ENB 998 or equivalent teaching/mentoring qualification
* NVQ Assessor
* Further evidence of professional development and training
Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential
* Experience of working with seriously mentally ill clients during acute phases of illness
* Understanding of ICPA and risk assessment
* Understanding of medication management issues and psychotropic medication
* Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983
* Working knowledge of NMC Code of Professional Conduct
* Basic IT keyboard skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training
Desirable
* Previous experience of working with children and young people in mental health services
* Experience of using CBT/DBT/Motivational Interviewing

Additional Requirements
* Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English to a standard which enables the post holder to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities of the role effectively.
* A level of fitness and ability to participate and complete PMVA, Breakaway training and Manual Handling (practice and theory).
