Portsmouth Solent Vets for Pets has an exciting position for a Reception Manager to join an established friendly team. We are a forward-thinking practice who pride ourselves on the quality of care we have been giving to all our patients, clients and community since 1997.
The successful applicant must be passionate about customer service and a passion for delivering outstanding client gold standard delivery with a genuine interest in what’s best for the pets and the people that love them. They must be organised, methodical, and able to multitask effectively in a busy environment. They will need to be competent with computer systems (experience with veterinary practice management software is advantageous) and a proven track record managing a front of house team. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who thrives on building relationships and supporting a dedicated clinical team.
Role responsibilities:
1. Manage daily operations, support staff, and ensure outstanding client care, working closely with our veterinary professionals to deliver compassionate service in a supportive environment.
2. Administrative matters (non-clinical).
3. Budgetary expenditure (non-clinical).
4. Maintenance and implementation of up-to-date standard operating procedures (non-clinical).
5. Training, audits and quality management matters (non-clinical).
6. Attend and be involved in the management meetings of the surgery.
7. Evaluate performance of the reception team against objectives.
8. Continue to develop and implement effective reception staff bi-annual appraisal and monitoring systems.
9. Initiate positive changes to enhance client/colleague satisfaction.
10. Implementing, identifying and managing training programs to maintain and improve the standard of service.
11. Develop and maintain effective debt control procedures.
12. Monitor and prioritise ‘reception’ tasks to ensure a timely and effective processing of paperwork and correspondence.
13. Maintain a regular shift in the receptionist duty rota.

As a full-time staff member, you would be working up to 40 hours a week, 8am-7pm including a one in four weekend (Saturday only).
