Community Nursery Nurse for Health Visiting
Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust has an exciting vacancy for a part time nursery nurse to join the West Berkshire health visiting team.
We are looking for a highly organised, motivated nursery nurse to join the team to support the health visiting service in West Berkshire. The team are responsible for providing a service to children and their families aged 0-5 that live within the West Berkshire boundary.
The ideal candidate will have good organisational, IT and communication skills with a passion for the health and well‑being of children aged 0-5 years and their families.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a supportive and friendly team where they will be supported to develop their skills.
You must be a driver and have use of a car.
Main duties of the job
To provide support to families within a variety of community settings under the direction of the Health Visitor, taking into account the diverse needs of the community.
To plan and deliver health enhancing activities for children and their families to include working in groups, child health clinics, developmental review clinics, postnatal groups and on an individual basis.
To provide support to families using the Solihull approach model in behaviour management, parenting skills and delivering programmes of care to vulnerable families as identified by the health visitor.
To support breastfeeding and parent infant relationships applying the Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative standards.
To be fully aware and understand of local safeguarding policies and procedures.
To work in partnership with Children Centres and Early Years settings to promote health and well‑being of the local population.
To support new staff and students in placement by contributing to the provision of a suitable learning environment and experience.
To participate in clinical and child protection supervision.
To liaise with other agencies and services to provide integrated and cohesive support for children and their families, under the direction of the health visitor.
To maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive records of care.
To provide care that is evidence based and support others in developing their practice.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications/Training
* NNEB or one of the following: CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education/BTEC National Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development/NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development
* Willingness to undertake further training and development.
Continuous Professional Development
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Previous Experience
* 18 months post qualifying experience in community setting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Additional Requirements
* Car Driver & have access to a car for work purposes.
* The post requires a degree of agility and the ability to carry/manoeuvre light to moderate loads.
