Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role in ensuring our investment programmes, repairs, and development projects are delivered efficiently, sustainably, and to the highest standards.As a key member of the Planned Delivery team, you will play an essential role in ensuring financial efficiency and full contractualpliance across all development projects and major repairs within the housing portfolioYou will be covering Greater Manchester and the wider North-West, along with Yorkshire and the Home Counties areas. Some travel will be required as part of this role.The successful Quantity Surveyor will work closely with Planned Delivery Managers, Surveyors, the Project Delivery team, and service providers to ensure that allmercial and financial activities align with contract terms, specifications, and the agreed schedule of rates. You will also support the delivery of consistent cost and quality standards by carrying outmercial checks in line with contract conditions.As an experienced Quantity Surveyor we expect that you should be able to demonstrate the following
1. Quantity surveying experience within a similar organisation and asset maintenance teams.
2. Proven experience of providing excellent customer service.
3. Experience of cost management, framework contracts andmercial management of contracts using a schedule of rates.
4. Experience of developing, preparing and issuing performance reports.
5. Experience and effectiveness in negotiating costs and contract terms with contractors.
6. Good knowledge of building construction and repair techniques and related current legislation and regulations.
7. Knowledge of the CDM regulations and other Health and Safety Legislation
8. Effective planning and organisational skills.
9. Experience of overseeing contractors delivering multi discipline projects and ensuring Health & Safety requirements are followed.
10. Excellent IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Word, Powerpoint, housing and property management systems.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have 4 years plus experience as a Quantity Surveyor
You will have a BSc in Quantity Surveying or another construction related discipline
You will have achieved/ or working towards MRICS status
