Glan Llyn Primary School is an English-medium school and provides education for children aged between 3 years and 11 years. The school also has a 20-place Learning Resource Base to support pupils with additional learning needs from across Newport. The school opened in September 2019 on a growing school basis to support the growing Glan Llyn housing development and sits within the Lliswerry cluster of primary schools. We have a published admission number of 60 and a 48-place nursery and currently have 475 pupils on roll. The position offered is on a fixed term basis to cover a maternity leave from 1st September 2026 and it is anticipated that the end date will be approximately end of May 2027. We are particularly interested in candidates who, in addition to having successful and highly effective practice as a teacher, have a good understanding of Foundation Phase Pedagogy and the ability to maximise progress in early literacy, numeracy and digital skills. The appointment process will start with a lesson observation in an infant class, following which, only selected candidates will be invited to attend a formal interview with the Headteacher and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
