In this role, you will join the UK and Ireland Built Environment Sector Team of subject matter experts. We conduct management system audits for clients in the sector, including Tier 1 contractors, smaller specialist contracts, architects, engineers, and project managers. We also audit management systems in the construction materials sector. The team forms a focus group of construction-based experts for operational teams in BSI and maintains links with other relevant parts of the business.
You will manage clients, conduct audits, develop client accounts, and be involved in sector development. There are opportunities to train in additional schemes and to develop new and existing schemes, working with large accounts. You will share best practices with colleagues and support clients at all levels to embed excellence in their business.

To be successful in the role:
You should have several years’ experience in the built environment sector and a good knowledge of quality, environment, and health & safety management systems and auditing. Key standards include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001. Familiarity with BS 99001 for quality in the built environment and the ability to audit it after training is desirable.
Experience with National Highway Sector Schemes, collaborative working, sustainable procurement, or construction materials is advantageous. We seek a subject matter expert to help develop and shape the sector and team.
You will need strong skills in time management, self-management, excellent communication, and attention to detail. Our core behaviors are Client Centric, Agile, and Collaborative, which help us build strong internal and external relationships.
The role involves conducting audits and preparing reports, either onsite or remotely. It is home-based with travel required, so you must be comfortable with daily travel and hold a full driving license. Travel is balanced with remote audits. You may work in a team but often will represent BSI alone with clients. It’s a busy but rewarding role.
