📝 Assessment Social Worker - Leicestershire (£38/hr)
Are you an experienced and motivated Social Worker ready to make a real difference from the very first point of contact? Leicestershire County Council is looking for a skilled Assessment Social Worker to join their frontline team, working with children and families to ensure safety, support, and swift, effective intervention.
🔹 Role: Assessment Social Worker
🔹 Location: Leicestershire
🔹 Pay Rate: £38 per hour
🔹 Contract: Full-time | Temporary (initial 3-6 months, likely to extend)
🔹 Start Date: ASAP
🔍 About the Role:
Working in the First Response or Initial Assessment Team, you'll be responsible for undertaking high-quality Child and Family Assessments in response to referrals. You'll identify risk, plan short-term interventions, and make key decisions to safeguard and support children at the earliest opportunity.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake timely Child and Family Assessments
* Conduct Section 17 and Section 47 investigations
* Attend strategy meetings and liaise with multi-agency partners
* Make recommendations and step cases up or down as appropriate
* Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely case records in line with statutory requirements
🎓 Requirements:
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Recent experience in a frontline assessment team
* Knowledge of relevant legislation (Children Act 1989, Working Together 2018, etc.)
* Strong decision-making and analytical skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
