About the Role This role is supporting young people across the North East with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll provide structure, care, and encouragement within a warm, family-style environment. Your day-to-day will include: - Supporting young people with their education - Planning and taking part in fun, meaningful activities during the week - Building strong, trusting relationships that help young people grow in confidence and independence - Ensure a safe, nurturing and empowering environment in line with children’s safeguarding and care standards - Work Collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams - Maintain accurate records and follow care plans - Managing challenging behaviours using calm, therapeutic approaches What We Offer You We invest heavily in our people because we believe great care starts with great support. You’ll be a great fit if you have: - At least 12 months paid UK experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviours - A full UK driving licence - Honesty, empathy, and strong values - Resilience and confidence in managing challenging situations - Strong communication skills - Flexibility for 12-hour shifts days, nights and weekends - Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) - If you don’t yet hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, we’ll support you to gain Level 4 and 5 qualifications while you work.
