Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

About the role:
In this key leadership role, you will take responsibility for day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring high levels of quality, safety, productivity and efficiency. You will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, driving performance, adopting modern techniques and maintaining the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership:
Provide expert technical support, guidance and direction to workshop teams
Drive adoption of modern repair, bodywork and diagnostic techniques
Collaborate cross-functionally to bring new technologies into operational practice
Workshop Operations
Manage daily mechanical & bodyshop workflow
Schedule and plan work effectively to optimise capacity
Ensure all repairs and servicing meet time, cost and quality expectations
People & Team Development
Lead and develop the mechanical & bodyshop teams
Conduct performance reviews and build training plans
Maintain a strong, positive and collaborative workshop culture
Quality, Compliance & Safety
Implement and uphold strict quality control procedures
Ensure compliance with relevant H&S legislation and standards
Conduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations
Resource & Inventory Management
Manage workshop tools, materials, consumables & equipment
Liaise with suppliers to maintain required stock levels
Support cost control and departmental budget management
About You:
Strong technical background within the automotive / mechanical repair sector
Previous workshop leadership and technician management experience
City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent in Automotive Mechanics / Light Vehicle / Repairs
Confident with H&S compliance and safe workshop operating standards
Competent in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook)
