An established and growing transport & infrastructure consultancy is looking to appoint a Highways Design Engineer into its Gateshead office. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative team delivering a wide range of development and infrastructure projects across the UK.
Highways design
Transport planning
Drainage
This 'one-stop' approach means you'll gain exposure to projects from early-stage planning and feasibility through to detailed design and delivery, giving you a much broader skillset than a typical design-only role.
Projects are varied and include:
Commercial and mixed-use schemes
Education facilities
Logistics and industrial sites
Regeneration and public sector projects

As a Highways Design Engineer, you'll support the delivery of highway design packages across a range of projects.
Supporting the delivery of highway schemes from concept through to detailed design
Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D
Working closely with transport planners, drainage engineers and other disciplines
Supporting project delivery across multiple schemes
Experience in highways design, particularly:
Pavement design
Experience using AutoCAD (Civil 3D beneficial)
Exposure to the full project lifecycle
Varied and interesting project workload
Strong pipeline of work and long-term stability
