We are looking for an experienced senior clinician to join the Stroke team as a Specialist Grade Doctor, working autonomously as part of the Consultant workforce.
Applicants must have completed a minimum of 12 years' medical work (either continuous period of in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical qualification, of which a minimum of six years should have been in stroke.
We are an expanding and forward‑thinking department providing acute stroke services for the entire population of Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG), along with regional provision including Mechanical Thrombectomy to the wider Severn Region and beyond.
The post holder will be expected to work autonomously and support the delivery of acute services, alongside outreach support to Mon‑Fri transient ischaemic attack (TIA) Clinics and ward referrals at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. They will also be expected to support bi‑weekly ward consultant rounds at the Stroke Sub Acute Rehab Units (SSARU’s) located at South Bristol Community Hospital and Weston General Hospital. The post holder would be expected to participate to the on‑call rota which supports the delivery of thrombolysis and provides the regional thrombectomy service.

* Hyperacute stroke including thrombolysis and thrombectomy
* HASU and ASU ward management
* TIA clinic
* Same Day Emergency Care
