As a Supervisor in the Catering Department at Liverpool University Hospitals, you will lead a team to deliver exceptional customer service while meeting operational goals. You will provide guidance, training, and support, ensuring staff are motivated and professional. Lead by example in customer service, encouraging your team to upsell and provide tailored recommendations to improve sales and satisfaction.
You will manage stock levels, ensuring displays are attractive and shelves are well-stocked, and oversee inventory and deliveries to maintain smooth operations. Maintaining high standards of hygiene and organization will be a priority, ensuring the store is clean and well-presented. You will supervise cash handling, ensuring accuracy in transactions and adherence to company procedures. Implementing loss prevention strategies will be key in safeguarding inventory, while collaborating with other teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Flexibility is essential as you may need to work across different sites or during peak times, including weekends and holidays. You will also participate in staff training and development, fostering a positive team environment. This role requires strong leadership, customer service, and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
* Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
* ILM Certificate NVQ 3 in catering subject/equivalent
* Previous catering experience at a supervisory level
* Previous Industrial Catering experience
* A general understanding of why food hygiene is important
* Health and safety basic knowledge
* Knowledge of cash handling and till systems
* Excellent communication skills
* Basic data inputting either manually or using a computer/tablet
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Excellent organization skills
* Willingness to work flexibly and at other sites when required
* Ability and willingness to undertake further training as necessary
The successful candidate must be prepared to study for the level 3 food hygiene certificate and NVQ 3.
