Introduction About Us At JK Williams we understand the heart of our success lies in the passion, dedication and expertise of our people. Building more than infrastructure – we’ve been building communities, relationships and a legacy of excellence for over 65 years. Based on Australia’s east coast, our rich history has allowed us to earn a strong reputation with deep roots in civil construction, bulk earthworks and project management capabilities. Description Our Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to take ownership of JK Williams’ entire technology environment across NSW and QLD. This is a rare stand-alone leadership role where you will drive service excellence, uplift cybersecurity maturity, lead application improvement projects, and be the trusted technical partner to every part of the business. You will set the strategic direction for IT, manage vendors, challenge cost structures, and ensure the business receives high-performing, reliable, secure systems every day. Skills And Experiences About You You are a hands-on IT leader who thrives in a fast-moving operational environment. You’re confident working autonomously, supporting users directly, and partnering with senior stakeholders to shape the future of technology across the business. You bring extensive experience within a medium-sized enterprise, strong communication skills, and a natural ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes. You enjoy improving systems, strengthening cyber controls, and delivering projects that make a real operational impact. You will also: Manage relationships with MSPs, telecommunications partners, software vendors and suppliers. Own all hardware/software procurement, licensing, mobility devices and equipment lifecycle management. Lead and deliver IT projects including ERP improvements, Microsoft 365 enhancements, SharePoint development and automation initiatives. Maintain system availability, ensure ITIL-aligned change controls, and support the business during planned downtime or after-hours when required. Drive cybersecurity uplift — monitoring risk, improving controls, and ensuring compliance across all business locations. Provide cross-functional support to teams including onboarding/offboarding, process improvements and ongoing training. Build trust and strong working relationships across the organisation and be seen as the “go to” person for all things technology. Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence Why JK’s?
