Diverse Fine Food

We are a fine food and beverage distributor. We supply artisan products to independent retailers throughout the UK. Our customers include Selfridges, Harrods, Wholefoods, Harvey Nichols, The Gloucester Gateway services. The purchasing role involves maintaining a constant level of stock for our customers.

A fast paced, fulfilling role which will lead to active involvement in selections for food and drink products for our yearly catalogues.

Overview of the role

The successful candidate will assist in the management of purchasing and stock control in a very fast paced department. Dealing in high end food and beverage products, the role demands constant focus on our desired high service level.

The role will focus predominantly on purchasing and inventory assistance, but will also include key business areas such as fulfilment and operations. It is a superb opportunity to really develop an integral position in the ever changing luxury food and drink industry.

Core Responsibilities:

We use a bespoke inventory system,. The system manages our stock control and is pivotal in the Purchasing Department. A complete understanding of the purchasing section is a core function of the role, following an in-depth training period. *Please note this role demands high focus and consistent level of daily transactions.

* Placing daily orders in line with the agreed order schedule
* Reviewing stock levels and providing forecasts to help ensure the correct levels of stock are being ordered and maintained.
* Maintaining purchasing, stock and pricing reports
* Working closely with the Purchasing Director on supplier relationships
* Maintaining Purchasing Inbox and Tickets, answering where relevant and processing all requests received on a daily basis
* Corresponding with Producers who wish to be represented by Diverse
* Active role in communication with suppliers during catalogue production
* Assisting the Operations team with supplier issues

Supporting roles if required (holiday cover)

* Effective, accurate booking in of goods received onto the system within agreed timescale
* Ownership of short dated and damaged goods through a quarantine process
* Chasing delivery dates for outstanding supplier purchase orders and updating the system with due dates

The Right Individual

We are looking for a passionate, adaptable, driven person and wants to develop the role and themselves in a fast-growing business.

You must have the ability to control process, so be structured and disciplined.

Strong communication skills, internally and externally to customers and suppliers.

You must be proficient with basic IT systems and be easily able to learn new software and applications.

You will be comfortable using excel being able to perform/execute advanced calculations, VLOOKUP, pivot tables etc.

Accurate and detailed - stock is cash and a key element of our customer experience. The ability to think and adapt will be key to maintaining our high service level.

Being part of a team who is growing will require the individual to be agile, flexible and committed, therefore in some instances taking on additional responsibilities to get the job done.

Operating Platform & Standards

You will need to become proficient and then work to ensure the data is correct and timely in all systems, currently key systems are

· Orderwise

· Freshdesk

· Microsoft 365 Platform

· Microsoft Excel

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
