Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

About The Role
We have a really exciting new opportunity here at ARO. As the first person in a newly created team, you will have the opportunity to develop processes, systems and people. As Purchasing Team Leader you will play a key role in enabling ARO to purchase and fulfil vendor orders as efficiently as possible.
You will manage a team of purchasing administrators who will process purchase requisitions, place purchase orders with suppliers, and for some product segments, manage the fulfilment of orders. The centralisation of purchasing is a new function, so you will contribute to the initial setup of processes and procedures and rollout of a new finance platform, to make the purchasing function a success.
You will be responsible for establishing and managing a team of purchasing administrators, and ensuring their performance aligns with the team's goals.
Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. You must be able to commute to the office and have your own transport.
What You’ll Do
 * Team management and coaching
 o Lead, motivate and develop the purchasing team to achieve their goals
 o Follow people processes including setting clear objectives, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a high-performance team ethic
 o Structure the team to ensure they are best aligned to the business and workloads
 * Process management and performance
 o Participate in the rollout of a new Finance platform, including purchasing workflows
 o Help define purchase and fulfillment procedures, ensuring documentation is up to date
 o Ensure the team follows specific supplier work instructions, as defined by vendor managers, to maximise margin (e.g. placing orders on Microsoft portal)
 o Identify and deliver ways to improve KPI performance, refining and updating processes
 * Purchase requisition processing
 o Verify requisition requests meet business rules
 o Raise purchase orders ensuring approval matrix has been followed
 o Place orders with preferred suppliers, including any supplier specific procedures defined by vendor managers to ensure we buy in the most efficient way possible
 * Supplier Relationships
 o Build relationships with key suppliers and establish required reviews to facilitate the purchasing process and escalations
 o Own and manage critical purchasing escalations within ARO and our suppliers
 * Data Management
 o Maintain accurate purchase, fulfilment and supplier records in appropriate systems
 * Order fulfillment (for certain order categories)
 o Track order progress and update requestor with progress
 o Identify mitigations or alternatives where there are material fulfilment delays
 o Record order information accurately in systems
 * KPIs
 o Meet overall team targets, and ensure team members meet personal targets for Purchase cycle time, on-time fulfillment, cost per purchase order, purchase updates per order
Requirements
Essential
 * Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchase management, or a related role
 * Demonstrable experience of implementing change i.e. setting up a new team, business process, or material improvement
 * Good understanding of the end-to-end purchasing process from requisition to fulfilment
 * Experience with ERP system tools for purchasing administration (e.g. MS Dynamics Finance and Operations, SAP, Oracle)
 * Strong communication and collaboration abilities
 * High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and right first time purchasing
 * Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
 * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT, or a related field (equivalent practical experience may be considered)
 * Familiarity with vendor management and procurement software
 * Certification in Procurement or Supply Management (e.g. CPSM)
