Hays is currently recruiting for an Associate Director based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The company is a global leader in design, engineering, and project management, dedicated to creating a better future by designing for environments and communities. They offer end-to-end services across the project lifecycle, including Capital Works, Consulting, Decommissioning, Engineering and Design, Operations and Maintenance, and Project and Program Management. With recent successes and growth in the North of England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, they seek an Associate Director to lead various sectors such as Defence, Nuclear, Aviation, Energy, Rail, Urban Developments, and Water Infrastructure, primarily in Water Infrastructure.
Your new role
As an Associate Director, your main responsibility will be delivering successful projects from planning to completion. Your duties will include:
1. Identifying and managing contractual and commercial risks, as well as opportunities.
2. Leading the project team by building, motivating, coaching, guiding, and developing team members to solve problems and make decisions.
3. Facilitating communication and coordination with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and partners.
4. Agreeing on commercial arrangements and communication plans with Discipline Leads.
5. Protecting the company's commercial interests through timely invoicing and credit control.
6. Closing out projects upon completion, archiving documentation, updating market information, and capturing lessons learned.
7. Delivering projects in accordance with the company's values: Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
What you'll need to succeed
Applicants should have over 5 years of experience in multidisciplinary infrastructure projects and currently hold a Senior Management role. Candidates with consultancy experience should demonstrate excellent project management skills and knowledge. A Chartered Qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or an equivalent field is required. Experience with construction contracts like NEC3 or NEC4, familiarity with BIM software, and 3D modeling tools are essential. You should also be capable of identifying new business opportunities and be willing to travel between Scotland and Northern Ireland, including client sites.
